FAQs/Good to Know Items

  1. Are Clover Gift Cards ONLY digital or do customers have an option to receive a physical card? If only digital, is the requirement that the customer has a smart phone to be able to download the app to retrieve the gift card. Gift cards are only digital OR physical.

  2. Is there a way to track the customer who is tied to the gift card? No. In Dashboard you can see dates & times gift cards were sold; with Insights, you can see customers’ transactions; with legwork, you can match up the two reports.

  3. Can an expiration date be added to the card? No.

  4. Can you track outstanding balances on each card? Yes, from the dashboard. You can see the starting balance and current balance (must know the last 4 digits of the gift card). Without last 4, can pull comprehensive report to see gift cards that were sold, the date activated, starting balance, and current balance.

  5. Can you track the date the card was purchased? Yes, through gift card app reporting.

  6. Can you reduce the amount available on the card after a certain period of time? No. 

  • The Clover gift cards do not come with envelopes however you can always check Amazon or your local stationary shop for those. 

  • Clover does sell gift card display stands. One does come with your order, and if you would like more just let them know by emailing or calling (1 855-290-7262). 

  • No other fees outside of the 2.5% for every $2 loaded or reloaded onto a gift card.

  • Gift cards can only be physical or digital; cannot convert physical cards to digital accounts.

  • Digital gift cards cannot be reloaded.

  • Physical gift cards can be reloaded over and over.

  • Gift cards will work at as many different locations as you need; you simply send an email to support@giftcards.clover.com with the names of the businesses + their MIDs, and the accounts will then be linked.

  • Because the locations will be linked to accept gift cards at any of the locations, you will not be able to see the origination of a gift card being redeemed.

  • You can reload, redeem, and/or issue gift cards from the Station, Mini, and the Flex.
